About this deal
Unlike the 360c’s and the Valentine Gen2’s of the world, the Uniden R8 is just a more well-rounded option that makes the least compromises when it comes to features. Should you upgrade if you already have the R7? Only if you want the best! On the positive side, the Redline 360c can now reliably detect FMCW photo radar sources such as MRCD and MestaFusion.
When approached by the car with the R8 from behind, the patrol car was unable to detect the R8 within about 10 feet or about a car length.Next up, let’s look at all the K band test passes and then I’ll share some key points and comparisons I noticed. Highway Radar is working on making a functionally integrated app that is still in the works. Police Laser Detection Performance
K-band: operating between 24.05 and 24.25 GHz, the K-band is a somewhat popular frequency used by police radar guns today. If you receive this alert, take a look around, though it very well may be a false alarm. If you can turn the K-band sensitivity down, we suggest doing so. The radar detection and laser jamming performance it second to none and it’s priced lower than other remote systems.
Uniden R8 New Zealand
For those wishing to reduce the clutter of electronics in their vehicle, the Escort MAXcam 360c is a worthy offering that no longer requires its owner to compromise performance with a combined dash cam and radar detector. When K-band filtering is enabled as well as K-blk 1 & K-blk 2 set to WEAK–which reduces falses from certain vehicles like Hondas and Acuras–we found the R8 to behave very well. While the Escort Redline 360c is a little bit quieter (so long as MCRD is not enabled on it), the alerting nature of the R8, when it does false, is much improved over the Escort piece and frankly, I trust the police radar K-band detection performance of Unidens.
