No single board game has left as big an imprint on the industry in recent years as Isaac Childres’ Gloomhaven. The massive, nearly 20-pound box of cardboard and plastic proved that fans are eager and willing to pay a premium price for a premium product. Now, its first proper sequel, Frosthaven, is on the way, and expectations are extremely high.

Zatu has an excellent range of games and for most of them the best prices too. Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend.

Campaign will introduce the unique story written by Krzysztof Piskorski (Tainted Grail) full of hard player choices, twists and branching storylines. During the Ship phase, players will manage their ship (binder with printed sleeves), where every section will have to make gameplay decisions. The project was originally expected to ship in February 2021, but has encountered multiple technical and logistical delays. While many outlets have had hands-on time with early prototypes, no one really knows how the larger campaign will hold up. We hope to have a final review in the coming months.

I have a few games (Frosthaven for example) that we play on Discord with MSN Messenger as our communication method (for some reason Discord causes reverb through our mics, this is not my problem). Buy New Releases Box »Wave 1 contains the entire first campaign of the game, intended as a stand-alone experience, but you should save the logs/flags you have set when completing the campaign as they will be referred in the future campaigns. To determine what to do on the location, you’ll have to resolve action. This can be printed on the book or you could be instructed to replace it with a card from the Points of Interest list. Performing actions brings rewards, sometimes resources, sometimes logs to read/listen. This is a good time to introduce the companion app.
Learn – ISS Vanguard
A set of four ornate hard plastic Section Boxes that hold all dice and cards of each Section. They replace the Section Trays built into the game's insert, making it easier for every player to reach and sort their cards and dice. If you'll be sleeving your cards, they'll fit in the boxes as well. In terms of storyline, without giving away any plot spoilers, you’ll find yourself in pretty standard sci-fi territory here. Each play session feels like a Star Trek episode, while the overarching plot is more like an Alastair Reynolds hard sci-fi book. The two mesh together nicely enough, and there’s a nice air of mystery and discovery throughout. The game is split into two phases: the Ship Book, where you prepare your ship, manage the various situations and progress scientific and technological advancement, and the Exploration phase where you land on a planet and explore the various locations to progress the different missions.Return to Dark Tower is based on the 1981 classic Dark Tower, which was originally marketed with the help of Orson Welles. Restoration’s version includes the eponymous tower, a foot-tall hunk of plastic filled with electronics and LED lights, and an app to help control it. The final product will include interconnected quests that can be played through multiple times.
